Sherratt? A natural family of Staffordshire figures.©

Prepare to meet thy god on a feather base.

Written by two keen collectors, this book has become a classic. It assembles "natural family"
of figures on the basis of the use of common features which can all be linked back to the table
based figures which are associated (rightly or wrongly) with the name of Obadiah Sherratt.

Similar pairs of cow groups, the pair on the left with a rainbow base the pair on the right with a feather base.

This pair of cow groups show a waisted scrolled base.

The book is perhaps unique in clearly showing how a logical "natural history" methodology can
help us identify groups of Staffordshire figures, helping us place them as likely products of an
 individual factory.

Different shepherd musicians, there are several interpretations of this subject.

Theme and variations! A spectacular shepherd and musician group
                                                                    with a hoop bocage.
With some 249 illustrations including a large section of illustrations arranged by subject of the figure it aids collectors to identify pieces from the "Sherratt" group.
