Alphabet dog guide.

There were many other models other than spaniel dogs to be found potted in the 19th century.
Although Queen Victoria's dog Dash started the craze for the spaniel we now know that Pekingese
and Pug dogs were popular with royal households around the world. This would have been great
inspiration to the Staffordshire potteries. Mans best friend, companion and workmate is his dog...
Some of these variations are in this guide and we hope you find the models that you are looking for.
Not only have the Staffordshire potteries provided wonderful pottery dog groups but as the
skilful workforce moved to find employment around the UK....Scottish and other British potteries
also produced wonderful examples of dogs, some of these characters will also be found within this guide.
Mantle and Chimneys were where the smaller pairs were displayed. The large
more robust dog sat in the hearth. Victorian homes were filled with these capsules in time.

The photos featured are of some of the stock we frequently carry.
If you have an interest in any of the models shown through the alphabet dog pages please
